Player Insurance

Squash & Racquetball Victoria members may be eligible for insurance cover through the Squash Australia National Insurance Program, administered by V-Insurance Group should they hold:

  • Compete Membership (24/7 Worldwide Personal Accident Insurance)
  • Local Membership (24/7 Personal Accident Insurance)
  • Social Membership (On-Court Accident Insurance)
  • Masters Membership (On-Court Accident Insurance)

The program is designed to provide financial assistance and liability protection for eligible members participating in approved squash and racquetball activities.

What may be covered?

Subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions, cover may apply while participating in sanctioned activities such as:

  • Competitions, tournaments and official events
  • Playing, training, coaching and trialling
  • Approved social and fundraising activities
  • Travel directly to and from covered activities

The insurance program includes:

Personal Accident Insurance

Personal Accident Insurance may provide limited benefits following an injury sustained during an approved activity. Depending on the circumstances, benefits may include:

  • Reimbursement of eligible non-Medicare medical expenses [up 85% of physiotherapy, chiropractic etc]
  • Ambulance expenses
  • Loss of income benefits
  • Lump-sum benefits for certain permanent injuries or death
  • Student tutorial, home-help and parental-assistance benefits

Personal Accident Insurance does not cover every expense or loss. In particular, insurers are generally prohibited from reimbursing services covered by Medicare, including the Medicare gap. Members should consider whether private health insurance, income protection or other personal insurance is appropriate for their circumstances.

Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance may protect eligible members if they are held legally liable for causing bodily injury or property damage while participating in a sanctioned activity.
