From Victoria, to Perth to the WORLD

After 8 days, over 900 competitiors from 55 different nations, Four Victorian's claimed their spot in the top three for thier age groups.
Tom Slattery M85+ 3rd
Kim Graham W40+ 3rd
Lynette Woodyard W75+ 3rd
Geoff Chambers M75+ Runner-up
The Championships was run across 3 venues, Squashworld Mirrabooka, State Squash Centre at Belmont and the all glass show court at Karrinyup Shopping Centre. On his experience in the Championships, Geoff Chambers said;
"I played much better than I expected! I was hoping to make Top 10 in the world but beat the No.3 seed which put me into the top 8. I would have been happy to go home with that!
It was a privilege to play Brian Cook, one of the absolute legends of Masters Squash, and a delightful fellow.
A highlight was sitting in the change room and hearing players speaking German, French, and the accents from Scotland, America, Ireland etc.
I made the semifinals in my event and the four semi finalists came from Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and England - absolutely fitting for the World Titles.
And finally, the group photo on court at the Presentation Ceremony encapsulates the event - people of all ages, bursting with life"!
Squash & Racquetball Victoria also acknowledge our referees that travelled over to officiate. Championship Referee Damien Green, along with David Cowell & Christie Christall made the journey.
The atmosphere of the entire championships was amazing, across all three venues, there was a true sense of fun, competition and a celebration of squash. The opening ceremony on Scarborough Beach had a picture perfect sunset to kick off the championships and from there it just got better.
