Selena Shaikh has been appointed Head Squash Coach at Grace Park Hawthorn Squash Club.

Selena and her team from Shaikhit Training will bring a new level of squash performance to the club. Selena will take up her position on 1st June 2017.

Selena said, “I'm thrilled to join a club that, through the launch of its new facility, is entering an exciting period.  We have the best centre in Melbourne but I chose to join as much as anything, because of the people I’ve met from GPHC and the real sense that this is a club, a group of great people who genuinely feel part of a community.  To join and be a part of its growth is something I’m looking forward to very much.”

Selena is passionate about growing and developing the GPHC squash community, having been a committed player herself for well over a decade. Through her own career as an elite junior and now a professional on the PSA tour, she has been lucky enough to receive coaching and guidance from our country’s best.

From these great influences, she has developed her own unique philosophy and approach to the game and wants to share this with others so they too can develop their love for and appreciation of squash.

Selena's appointment at GPHC is another positive for the club, which recently opened its brand new facilities.

The redevelopment will position GPHC as one of the premier sporting facilities in Melbourne with the addition of four new squash courts, a revamped and upgraded member’s area, conference and function room, gym facility, snooker room and wrap around balcony.

Selena officially kicked off business at GPHC on 1st June.  You can book sessions with Selena and her team, any time the centre is open, in person, through her website,  or on 0412 429 136.

Selena will also be running two special squash fit sessions on Tuesday 11 July at 6.30am and 7.45am Mulgrave Country Club as part of the Victorian Open week. Cost is $15 and bookings can be made through the S&RV office on 9682 2199. Hurry places limited!
